About Park Place Hotel Memphis

How frustrating is it to know that millionaires actually spend less than you do?

Most people are surprised to find out that millionaires actually spend less than their less wealthy counterparts.  Less on cars.  Less on clothes.  Less on their amazing vacations. But we know millionaires don’t sacrifice quality.

So, how?  How do they manage to spend less than the rest of us on everything without giving up anything?

Park Place Hotel

It’s because they understand how to get the most out every dollar they spend.  They know what to buy and where to buy so that every dollar is working as hard as it can for them.  Not the other way around.

And that’s the whole point behind the Park Place Hotel – to provide an experience of getting the absolute most out every dollar you spend.  Put another way, we’re about giving you more than what you’ve paid for.

That’s why we don’t charge extra for parking.  It’s why we don’t charge extra for breakfast.  And why we don’t charge extra for the internet.  It’s why we educate our guests with our News and Tips section.

It’s the reason we provide "in-room dining options" instead of "room service."

Because we know exactly who to call to get Italian delivered directly to your door.  In fact, we give you the menus for every restaurant that delivers in the area.  So if you want to experience cuisine from our own River Oaks Restaurant (voted Best New Restaurant in Memphis 2007 and 2008), or something as simple as pizza, you got it.  They'll bring it right to your door.  And you won’t have to pay us room service prices for it either.

That’s getting more than what you paid for.

Park Place Hotel Memphis is a unique experience for people who know, just like millionaires, that to get different results, you have to do things differently.  We invite you to experience the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you’ll find some Frequently Asked Questions about some things that we do differently, as well as some pretty common things in hospitality that might seem bewildering if you don’t work on this side of the desk.

Why can’t I make more than one reservation in my name?

As much as we would like it not to be the case, it just isn’t courteous or safe to give something to someone that is reserved for someone else.  It causes problems for both guests and the hotel.

Additionally, we make it a practice to know exactly which individual occupies each room.  Safety first.

Do you have roll-aways, cots, or cribs?

Park Place Hotel

No.  The configuration of our rooms is comfortable for up to 4 average sized adult guests.  Any more than that and we run the risk of making you uncomfortable.  And breaking fire codes.

Do you accept pets?

No.  But feel free to contact us prior to your arrival if you need lodging for yours.  We can give you the contact information to several pet care centers that are more than happy to house your companion during your stay so that you may make a decision about what is right for your companion.

Can I check in early?  Or check-out late?

We certainly make every attempt to accommodate special requests, so please ask.  We evaluate each request on a case by case basis in order to serve the best interests of all of our guests.

But just so you don't run into any surprises....

Our official check-in time is 3:00 PM, and check-out is 12:00 PM.

Whether or not we can accommodate requests for earlier check-ins is completely dependent on the rate that other guests are checking out that morning.  That means, if the majority decides to check-out close to noon, chances are you’ll have to wait until 3:00 PM.

If you absolutely have to have a room to check-in to before noon, your best bet is to rent the room for the night before as well. If you need to check-out late, we can usually accommodate this request for a fee no greater than the cost of the next night’s room and tax.

Why do you need my contact information?

We obtain personal contact information primarily for security purposes. Just like you don’t make a habit of inviting total strangers into your home, we wouldn’t put you in a room next to someone whose identity we couldn’t verify with basic contact information.  And frankly, in today’s climate, it just makes good business sense to be wary of doing business with anyone who refuses to disclose such basic information.

That’s why we ask you for you personal information.  It’s also why we prefer to get your information, not the “local office address.”

When someone claiming to be you stops by the desk for another room key, because his wallet is locked in the room, or when that person calls and asks for a receipt from his last stay to be forwarded, you’ll be glad we ask for an address or phone number that is a little harder to come by than your publicly listed Fortune 1000 company’s is.

Again.  Your safety first!
